About Me

Dr. Bobby successfully defended his dissertation titled, _Answering the Call of Duty: Composition Pedagogy Problems, Multimodal Solutions, and Gaming Literacies_, on June 7, 2011. Dr. Bobby's dissertation analyzes common problems writing teachers experience in college classrooms such as stage-based process pedagogy; student apathy or resistance toward college writing; handbooks; and writing assessment practices; and offers solutions derived from theories and practices associated with new media writing. Dr. Bobby is most interested in exploring possibilities at the intersection of composition pedagogy and gaming literacy, but his interests also include teaching writing with technology, social media, and visual rhetoric.
